Setting up a New Blog - Three Must Do Tasks

The first three things you should do when setting up a new blog are:
  1. Install Google Analytics - Google Analytics is a free service that provides detailed information regarding the visitors of your blog, traffic sources, best and worst peforming pages, and, if needed, can associate the aformentioned information with an ecommerce shopping cart.
  2. Integrate FeedBurner - FeedBurner is a free service that makes it easier for your readers to follow and engage your blog. Specifically, FeedBurner provides widgets that allow readers to subscribe to your blog via an RSS reader and/or e-mail. In addition, FeedBurner's FeedFlare makes it easy to add Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, and other social utilities to the bottom of each blog post. FeedBurner can be configured to notify multiple blog directories, your Twitter account, and search engines after each post is published.
  3. Register your blog with the big 3 search engines - Register your blog and blog sitemap with Google's Webmaster Tools, Yahoo!'s Site Explorer, and Microsoft's Bing Webmaster Center because, in doing so, you will notify them that your blog exists and needs to be added to their search results. Further, monitor the three webmaster tools because they yield valuable feedback about your blog's search engine ranking.
Is there a task that you believe is more important than one or more of these three tasks?
